The Bachelor of Arts in Education (for students abroad)
degree is offered to teachers or teaching aides with no
higher education in the field of education, with a one-year
diploma in education, or the equivalent of a two-year
Associate degree in Education. Through work experience, they
have gained considerable competency in their profession and
wish to broaden their knowledge and gain further recognition
and competence in education. Globally, the need for teachers
will be well in excess of the population growth in
consideration of the growing demands for universal literacy.
In developing countries adult literacy is about 50% and
gross enrollment at schools is about 37%.
